[february 20] [original] conflicted thoughts
Title: Conflicted Thoughts
Day/Theme: February 20/ "Clad in the beauty of a thousand stars"
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Raz/Kayl
Rating: G
Words: 209
He watched as she clung to his jacket in her sleep; she had wrapped it around herself tightly before she fell asleep next to him.
She wrinkled her nose at times and moved her legs a bit at random intervals and he chuckled lightly at her childlike actions. Raz placed his hand on her shoulder when the wind blew past them; his heated touch stopped her shivering and he quickly lifted his hand away from her body to make sure she did not wake up.
Inwardly, he worried as he watched her sleep. She should not have been there with them; the life of a soldier and his army was one of violence and horror. It was foolish of him to allow her, a human, to travel with them especially when she was not always able to defend herself. Raz was sure that the rush of seeing her smiling face after a year and a half absence greatly impaired his judgment.
The clouds above their camp moved and a few rays of starlight hit Kayl's face; in her sleep, she groaned in annoyance and pulled the jacket above her head. Raz couldn't help but chuckle as his concerns were replaced by his affection for the girl sleeping beside him.
