When Ozai is crowned Fire Lord, it is the achievement of all his earthly ambitions.
His brother – the fool – does not even attempt a coup, merely sends a note of congratulations from whatever country estate he’s secluded himself in.
His wife – the traitor – is banished, and even at his coronation, he feels the sharp sting of betrayal. Ursa was ever sentimental, yes, but the idea that she would choose Zuko over him is enraging, even if her plan to save the boy ensured Ozai the fire throne.
