Title: Not Really Acceptance
Day/Theme: Feb. 6 - "The justice of my quarrel"
Series:Slayers
Character/Pairing: Amelia and Zelgadis
Rating: G
“Just give it up, Amelia,” Zelgadis sighed, sweeping past.
“But it isn’t fair!” her voice rose with frustration, getting dangerously close to a whine. She actually stamped her foot, before hurrying to keep up. She had been losing a moral argument with Lina all day. Justice’s case had been declared, and protested, and finally pleaded. It didn’t stand a chance against pure mercenary survival, though.
Lina was ignoring her now, and Gourry had lost interest in the first half hour. That just left Zelgadis to sympathize. A sideways glance showed the princess to be near tears, and he almost reached out to put a comforting hand on her shoulder, but pulled it back when he noticed pnce again the barnacle-like crust of stone on his fingers. Her woes were loud and flashy enough to distract him from his own for a little while, but never for long.
“Life isn’t fair, princess,” he said, voice going flat again. “Get used to it.”
