[Jan 29][Original]I'll Explain Nothing

Title: I’ll Explain Nothing
Day/Theme: 1/29/07 | contradictions do not exist.
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Jestiel and Kael (gen fic)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: A young man asks an angel about contradictions.

Over at a simple café where coffee and pie is the norm two young men sit inside of a booth across from each other. Kael is flipping through the pages of the Holy Bible with an expression of confusion and frustration. Jestiel meanwhile is eating a piece of blueberry pie and toying with the menus so they read things they shouldn’t.

“Heh, heh, Boob Cakes.” Jestiel giggles at this juvenile attempt at humor. Kael looks up from his bible and gives the angel a slight glare. Jestiel notices, and responds with, “What’s wrong queer boy?”

Kael groans at the nickname. He realizes that it’s simply Jestiel’s way of showing affection. He is the incarnation of humor made manifest after all. “I’m confused about something.” He admits.

“Oh?” the angel cocks an eyebrow, and smiles. “What about?”

“This damn bible! Why does it have so many contradictions?” Kael asks almost angrily. Jestiel can feel the confusion in the boys voice.

“Silly, there are no contradictions.” Jestiel says with a smile. Kael glares at the angel, and grips the sacred scriptures in both of his clutched fists. “Alright, what’s troubling you?” Jestiel asks with a smile. This is the most serious that the angel will get.

Kael releases his grip from the Bible. “How can God be all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, and yet give humans free will? It’s a complete contradiction!”

The dark haired angel lets out a hearty chuckle. “Oh Kael, Kael, Kael.”

“What?!” Kael snaps. A few heads turn towards his general direction, but resume to eating their dinners and desserts.

“There’s no contradiction.” Jestiel says knowingly.

“So how do you explain that? What I just asked?” Kael asks with just a hint of impatience in his voice. It’s obvious that he wants his question answered here soon.

“You’ll know soon enough. Trust me.” Jestiel answers.

“Right. You’re shitting me.” Kael sighs. He’s obviously disappointed by the fact that his guardian angel isn’t going to answer his question.

“Kael, I’m an angel of God. I cannot lie.” Jestiel stats with a grin.

“Fine, fine, whatever. You’ll tell me later right?”

“Of course! Now come on, it’s time to get out of here. I got us a hotel just down the block, and our flight leaves tomorrow at 8:45 AM. Aren’t you excited? We’re going to the City of Brotherly Love!”

Kael’s eyes perk up, and he lets out a smile. The two pay for the meal, leave a generous tip for the waiter, and they leave.

End.
