“Morning, Miss Scarlett,” two strangers said as she passed. Many people greeted Scarlett everyday; her family was well-known in Fleur.

“Scarlett?” someone called. It was one of the boys from school, though she forgot who…

“Huntley?” She was mortified when the boy shook his head.

“Nicholas,” he clarified.

“You live around here?” she asked, hiding her embarrassment. Nicholas nodded. “I hadn’t realized… It’s so far from school…”

He shrugged. “It’s good exercise,” he said, winking. She felt butterflies rise in her stomach. Was she… attracted to him?

“Well, see you around,” she said, determined never to forget his name again.
