Jet sat on the couch, rubbing his temples to try to cure his headache. He had about two minutes of rest before Fay came up to him and rapped her knuckles against his metal arm.

“What the hell did you do that for, Faye?”

“Did you fix the Red Tail yet?” she asked.

“Do you have the 30,000 woolongs you owe me yet?”

Faye made a “hmmmph” noise and walked away.

Spike entered the room next.

“You loaned Faye money? Since when are you an idiot?” he asked.

“She was supposed to pay me for the last time I fixed her ship,” muttered Jet.

“You should have told her to keep her ass on the Bebop if she couldn’t stop crashing the Red Tail.”

“Thanks for all your helpful advice, Spike,” said Jet.

“Did you finish the paperwork on that bounty yet?” he asked.

“It was your turn!”

Spike lit a cigarette. “I was busy.”

“So was I. The refrigerator broke again.”

“Well, do the paperwork, OK?” Spike walked off with the cigarette in his hand.

“What did I ever do to him?” Jet asked himself as Ed walked into the room with Ein.

“Don’t tell me you want something, kid.”

Ed looked curiously into Jet’s face from about two inches away. “Jet-Jet?”

“Yeah?”

Instead of answering, she ran off doing her impersonation of a flying car while Jet slouched over in the chair. Finally Ein climbed up on the couch and put his head in Jet’s lap.

“You never complain, Ein. Not even when I feed you noodles.” He scratched the back of the dog’s neck. “And you’re saner than the rest of them, and you like me.”

Ein only panted, but Jet took it for agreement.
