[January 9] [Avatar: The Last Airbender] In a Name
Title: In a Name
Day/Theme: January 9/“Who in the world am I?” Ah, that’s the great puzzle.
Series: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Character/Pairing: Zuko
Rating: G
Word Count: 158
Warning: Slight implied spoilers for The Firebending Masters.
Zuko held the brush over the parchment.
Crown Prince Zuko, son of Fire Lord Ozai.
He had written it so many times the brush strokes were automatic for him. But now it had changed.
Fire Lord Zuko, son of Ozai, son of Azulon
He hated every part of that – his grandfather, who had sentenced him to death. His father, who had nearly carried out the sentence.
Fire Lord Zuko, son of Ursa
Fire Lord Zuko, nephew of Iroh
Fire Lord Zuko, great-grandson of Roku
Fire Lord Zuko, friend to the Avatar
Even the title Fire Lord made him think of Ozai, which had led him to doubt whether he even wanted that either. But certain choices were not up to him.
Zuko of the Fire Nation
He looked at the characters on the parchment and nodded. It was too humble, and would probably be labeled pretentious in the end. But it was a name he would live with.
