[Dec. 30, 2007][Final Fantasy VI] I'm Here to Fight the Receptionist
Title: I'm Here to Fight the Receptionist
Day/Theme: Dec. 30, 2007 "Idiots will be idiots"
Series: Final Fantasy VI
Character/Pairing: Locke, Ultros, Celes
Rating: PG-13
"I'm here for a match," Locke grinned, placing his gloved hands down on the desk and leaning on it casually.
Ultros slid backwards, away from the treasure hunter's brilliantly excited gaze. "Well, place your bet then," the octopus receptionist said, waiting for Locke to hand over some armor or a weapon.
However, the bandana-wearing man only continued to stand there smiling. "What do I have to put up to fight you?" he asked, still looking pleasantly crafty.
"Fight me?!" Ultros exclaimed, "You, my fine thieving friend, do not stand a chance against me on your own! Don't you recall how serious a threat I was even with your friends to help you out?"
"Ultros," Celes spoke up from over Locke's shoulder, "You were never a serious anything to us. You were just a big, weird annoyance on the way to more important things."
Ultros had not initially noticed the tall blond woman with Locke. "Oh, you can't possibly mean that," the purple octopus tried to sweet talk the sexy ex-general. "My tentacles were a clear and present danger to your curvaceous form!"
Celes' eyes went icy cold as she reached for her rapier, "Try saying that one more time and there won't be enough of you left to make sushi with."
"Geez, Ultros," Locke glared, "Shut your big mouth and his the arena."
"I...I'm sorry," squeaked Ultros, thoroughly chastised by the threat of violence.
Celes let go of the hilt of her sword. A complete calm did not come over her face, but something of a patient irritation did settle across her features.
"Come on, let's go," Locke gestured toward the empty coliseum.
"Fine, fine," Ultros gave in, shrugging with two of his tentacles as the rest propelled him in his lazy slide across the floor.
Celes followed more slowly behind the opponents. She eyed Ultros nonchalantly as he launched his first sweeping attack. Locke dodged and drew his newly found knife, a silver blade reputed to have a 100% critical rate against sea creatures. Celes allowed herself a small, hidden smile.
