[Dec. 23, 2007][Final Fantasy VI] Food Fight

Title: Food Fight
Day/Theme: Dec. 23, 2007 "Do I want to know?"
Series: Final Fantasy VI
Character/Pairing: Cyan, Sabin, Gau
Rating: PG

Cyan sheathed his katana and wiped the perspiration dripping down his face with the back of his gauntlet before remembering he still had a handkerchief. He pulled it mournfully from his pocket and solemnly dabbed his face and neck. What little he had left of his family would have to be put to such prosaic uses so he could live to avenge them, but this didn't mean these artifacts shouldn't be treated with respect. He headed back to the inn to rest after this intense spurt of practice.

As he reached for the doorknob, Cyan could already hear some strange noises emanating from inside the room- a variety of grunts and crashes, as though some sort of fight were occurring within. "Sir Sabin?! Sir Gau?!" he shouted, anticipating trouble as he put his hand to the hilt of his sword.

The two reluctant companions were locked in a struggle on the floor. Sabin was trying to pull a strip of beef jerky from Gau's sharp teeth. Gau pushed away from the martial artist's grasp with all his might, dirty hands pressing against Sabin's chest. Cyan's appearance did not deter them, though Sabin lost some ground as he turned his head to glance at the warrior from Doma.

Cyan's mustache bristled as he stomped over to the fighting pair and pulled them forcibly apart. The jerky went with Gau due to the strength of his jaw. The wild boy hastily gobbled down the snack before Sabin had a change to lunge at him again.

"Hast thou lost thy mind, Sir Sabin?!" the older man exclaimed, "What possessed thee to fight this lad over a scrap of food?!"

Sabin brushed himself off and scowled, "That was the last of our rations. I hope you have some more money. I was going to eat that and then go see if I could make any gil out on the Veldt when he jumped up and snatched it right out of my hand!"

Gau licked his lips happily.

"Sir Sabin, thou shouldst be ashamed, "Cyan crossed his arms and turned away from the blond man. "To think that thou wouldst eat the last piece of food in front of this hungry lad. I am absolutely flabbergasted."

"I can't believe you're taking his side in this," Sabin gasped.

"Mr. Thou hungry?" wondered Gau, "Hunt with Gau on Veldt?"

"I'll pass," Sabin groaned.
