Fei Wong Reed wasn’t a man to be easily surprised. There were times, however, when exceptions had to be made.

The Dimensional Witch’s interference was on top of his list. He knew she would not simply stand and watch as he carried out his plans, though he could not imagine she would risk so much. Then again, her actions did not seem so far-fetched when he thought back of the connection she had with Clow Reed. Amazing, he mused, the way his blood-relative had such an influence over people even in death.

Then there was the princess of the desert. Hard as it was to believe the girl would change in such drastic ways, he had expected her to eventually resort to that witch and her wish-granting abilities, in an attempt to reach the world of dreams. What he failed to foresee, however, were the means employed, and when body and soul split from each other, he could not help but stare in mild awe.

That had hardly been an obstacle, though definitely a nuisance. But it didn’t matter.

Even if events didn’t quite unfold the way he had Seen, there was no reason to worry – if anything, they only added to his entertainment. He wouldn’t even bother to brush it off, for the weaklings were meant to fall by themselves. Everything was under control. His plans never failed, but instead, they merely took a different turn. In the end, only one outcome would remain.

The dream would go on.
