[Dec. 13, 2007][Original] Not Really Morning People

Title: Not Really Morning People
Day/Theme: Dec. 13, 2007 "Like toothpaste, smooth and minty"
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Seif, Rowan, Li, Ran
Rating: G

The air was still cold. The knights were forced to put back on their clothing although it had not fully dried. Ran's long, blond locks were plastered messily to his forehead and neck. "This must be the worst hair day of my life," he groaned.

Li laughed at the frazzled mess his beard had become, trying to stroke the short hairs into some semblance of neatness. "It's not much of a beauty day for me either," he chortled, patting down the strangely standing tufts on his head.

"Seif looks worst of all," Rowan had to point out, trying to suppress a humorous smirk on his pale face. "Sorry, but I just couldn't help saying so," he apologized, though it seemed unlikely he was really very repentant from the tone of his voice.

"Perhaps it's the helmet and all hiding whatever hideous mess your hair might be, but I have to grudgingly admit, you look fresh as a daisy, Sir Rowan," Seif smiled. He rubbed his hair with his somewhat damp cape like it was a towel and only succeeded in making the bird's nest atop his head worse.

"My mouth tastes like grit," Li ran his tongue over his teeth.

"Did you fall asleep with your mouth open again?" Ran teased, running a comb through his sticky tresses.

Rowan was busy putting his armor back together. Seif, not yet willing to add a layer of chilled metal to his shivering form, sat on the ground and watched his small companion. "Do you do this sort of thing often?" he asked.

"I can't believe how ridiculously soft you Messinans are," Rowan sighed, still entertaining a trace of a smirk around his face.

Seif caught a whiff of a cool, minty scent. Convinced that he had to be imagining it, he leaned forward, tasting the air. "Oh, I can't believe this!" he exclaimed, "You even smell good!"

"Ah," Li shook his head, "Now that's just crossing the line!"

"Don't be too jealous, you lazy slug-a-beds!" the black knight laughed. "We were trying to take a shortcut yesterday and look where that landed us!"

"Fine, fine," Li acquiesced, heading out of the cave to see that the tiny boat was still in one piece.

"Get your armor on, Seif," Ran smiled as he followed the redheaded knight out.

"You heard them, Sir Seif," Rowan flashed his pearly teeth.
