[Dec. 11, 2007][Suikoden III] Picture Day
Title: Picture Day
Day/Theme: Dec. 11, 2007 "A smile is always the best"
Series: Suikoden III
Character/Pairing: Sasarai, Dios
Rating: G
Sasarai adjusted his large, round hat cautiously, making sure it would not slip to hang at a ridiculously slanted angle as it often did when he rushed about the Temple attending to business.
"Raise your chin a little," the photographer suggested. "There, that's good," he said as Sasarai complied.
Dios thought the bishop made a very pleasant sight posed on the photographer's stool with his hands folded on his lap and the Temple garden laid out behind him. It almost made him wish he had a bit of potch to spare to get his own copy of the photograph.
"Shall I smile or would it be better to look serious?" Sasarai inquired, sitting very still to keep his neatly-arranged robes from becoming disarrayed. He had gone to a bit of trouble to look his best for this formal portrait and he wanted to stay neat.
"Well," the photographer mused, scratching his chin thoughtfully, "You wanted this to be fancy and formal, so I might be inclined to say, 'Don't smile,' but you are known for being pleasant and good-natured, so I don't believe a smile would be seen as smug or flippant. Since this will be an official portrait if you like it enough, it is a form of propaganda. What kind of image do you want to present to Harmonia?"
"When you put it that way, it becomes even more difficult to make a decision!" Sasarai laughed.
"I think you should smile, Sir," Dios put forth his own opinion.
The bishop looked kindly on his subordinate. "Thank you for the suggestion, Dios." The brunette nodded to the photographer, but only very slightly to keep from unsettling his hat. "I am ready. I will smile."
Dios approved of the decision and it seemed from his strangely hooked twitch of the lips that gradually turned into a full grin that the photographer did too as he counted to three and flashed the lightning rune that would capture the image on the plate in his heavy camera. The bishop held his pose well.
"I think it's more natural for me to smile," Sasarai confided in Dios after shaking the photographer's hand and thanking him for his time. Dios agreed. He had a feeling that most others who knew the bishop would too.
