It was the best answer to all of the chaos that tended to rampage past on a daily basis. Kasumi had learned a long time ago that the only way to keep her head above the turbulent waters of the Tendo household was to remove herself from them.
So, she faced the explosive emotions, volcanic tempers, and overall runaway madness with a smile. No one could argue with that. No one could take offense at it. Very few could construe it as a proposal of marriage. If they thought she was clueless, that was fine. Being a non-combatant had seen her through many a ridiculous combat. That, and a smile.
