I even have a Duskany icon! ^_^

"And whatever you do always have a backup plan," Duskany lectured, waving his finger just a few inches from Jiao Rei's face.

The younger man's eyes flicked back and forth, following its path. He seemed mesmerized, but each of Duskany's odd movements, but there was no reason to suspect that he was interested in what the mercenary was saying. Duskany dropped his hand and Jiao Rei blinked lazily.

"I didn't know you always brought a backup plan," Garland piped up, tugged on his partner's sleeve to make him look his way.

Duskany flipped some stray hairs from his face and turned to look into Garland's wide, shining eyes. "Of course I bring a backup plan. How did you think I managed to get us out of so many tight scrapes otherwise? Dumb luck?"

Garland pursed his lips and nodded.

"Oh, c'mon! I'm not a lucky guy, Garland. Think of all the annoying things that have happened to me just since you met me! I get stopped at every checkpoint, I get caught everytime I get up to some trouble, Kojiro chewed me out whenever I started having too much fun back at his place..."

"Well, that's true. ...But you didn't get out of many of those things. I'm not sure you had a plan at all, let alone a backup plan," Garland insisted cooly.

"You managed to get away when we saved Luciano in Pomona," Jiao Rei spoke up, "How'd you get out of that?"

"You were the decoy," Duskany shrugged.

Jiao Rei groaned. His experience in Pomona had been far from pleasant. He honestly hoped that sort of trouble hadn't been planned in advance.

Garland shook his head, sending his pale hair flying about his head. "That wasn't part of the plan at all! You thought we'd get back out the same way we got in and without any trouble at all."

The Quetlandic youth scrutinzed Duskany more intensely, "Wasn't there a backup plan that didn't involve me getting chased down by a crazy, mask-wearing, katana-wielding freak?"

"Well," Duskany smiled, "There was always my standard backup escape plan."

"And what's that?"

Garland, suddenly remembering what a fiasco the standard plan had been last time it was used, put his head in his hands.

"We put on our disguises and I pretend Garland is my sick wife who needs to see a doctor," a silly grin lit up the southerner's face.

"...I am never going to listen to any of your advice about sneaking around ever again," Jiao Rei answered, absolutely flabbergasted.
