[Dec. 2, 2007][Tales of the Abyss] Strawberry Girl
Title: Strawberry Girl
Day/Theme: Dec. 2, 2007 "failure to communicate"
Series: Tales of the Abyss
Character/Pairing: Anise, Guy, Jade
Rating: PG
"You see, Guy, my secret to making a super-sweet fruit tart that outshines the rest is to always add strawberries," Anise giggled. She fluttered her eyelashes coyly.
"No man can resist the double team attack of my adorable nature and my topnotch cooking!" she though deviously.
"You add strawberries to your sandwiches too, don't you?" Guy remembered as he helped slice apples and pears for the tarts.
"Yep, I do. There's just something so perfect about their flavor when matched with a thick slice of warm bread."
"Ha ha, you're a little like a strawberry yourself, Anise," Guy laughed.
The girl made an exaggerated show of cute embarrassment. "Wh-what do you mean? Me, like a strawberry?"
"You're always around your cooking," the blond man explained casually. "You hang around everyone eating your cooking and completely ignore Tear and Natalia's opinions on it. You constantly fawn over Luke and Jade, and me a little bit too, making sure we like everything."
"Guy! How could you?!" Anise shrieked. On the other side of the hill, Luke and Tear, studying fonons, winced.
"I-I-I'm just being honest!" he back-pedaled nervously, waving his hands out in front of his chest.
"Are the tarts finished yet, Anise?" Jade inquired, strolling up to the baking pair with his hands in his pockets.
"Almost, Colonel," her bright facade returned instantaneously as she turned to smile at the military man.
Guy sighed with relief. Jade's arrival had spared him the full force of Anise's wrath.
"Why don't you sit down with us while you wait," the pig-tailed girl coaxed. Jade agreed and sat down near the baking pastries, closing his eyes as he breathed in the sweet scent beginning to waft from them.
"Colonel, you just missed hearing Guy say the nicest thing to me," Anise chirped, "He said I was like a strawberry."
Guy put his head in his hands. He couldn't believe she was already twisting his intentions around right before his eyes.
"Guy, don't tell me you intend to woo this young lady," Jade spoke with his usual sarcasm.
"Oooh, Guy!" Anise squealed.
Guy would not even look at them.
