[Dec. 1, 2007][Grandia] No Relief
Title: No Relief
Day/Theme: Dec. 1, 2007 "piece by piece by piece"
Series: Grandia
Character/Pairing: Justin and Feena
Rating: G
Well,
yukitsu, your themes beat my time management in their cage match to the death, so I'll be shooting for everyday this month.
"Justin," Feena sighed, "How long do we need to do this?" She slumped down to sit on a protruding tree root. Spending the last few hours in the jungle had made the green-haired girl sweaty and tired. Her bangs stuck to her forehead and Justin's messy mop of reddish brown hair also wilted.
He fanned himself with his blue cap. "Just a little longer," he answered, clearly as tired as she was. "I just want to increase our water magic a little more."
Feena's head drooped. They had been out here for nearly an hour, hacking at vicious man-eating plants and strengthening their water magic by tending to each scratch separately. When they had first arrived out here, their skills with fire and water had far exceeded their other magical skills, but all this training had made a significant advance in their healing skills.
"I can't wait to get to a town and take a cold shower," Feena urged herself forward with her dream of being cool and clean again.
"I want to have something to eat," Justin answered with his plans. "Being out here has really put me in the mood for something spicy, like curry, with an iced drink."
Feena rose to her feet and began walking alongside Justin on the long, twisted path out of the jungle. "I can't believe you'd still want something hot after all of this. Once I'm out of here I don't even want to think about being hot ever again."
"Sorry," Justin shook his head. "I didn't realize how bad it would be."
"Well, it'd be one thing to do this training in a cool field or forest," Feena explained her reaction to the situation, "It's the humidity that's just killing me."
"Look!" the boy exclaimed, pointed, through the drooping banana leaves and hanging vines, "I can see a building!"
"Civilization!" the girl beamed, clutching her whip tight with joy.
The pair picked up their speed, too tired to run, but too excited not to increase their pace. "It's an inn!" Justin cheered as the beckoning sign came into view.
As they neared the inn with brilliant smiles on their grimy faces, another, lower sign came into view. "No vacancy," it read. Their faces fell.
