Naru found Kitsune brooding. "Something wrong?" Naru asked.

"I have been cast out from the Garden of Eden," Kitsune declared mournfully. "Forsaken and left to wander the wastelands, I found that desert sands had consumed the fair pastures, the rivers had run dry, and even the oceans had been reduced to lifeless salt-beds. And I knew that no rains would ever fall again. My throat was so dry that I found myself unable to cry out in despair."

And then, Keitaro walked up. "Something wrong?" he also asked.

"Haruka closed Kitsune's bar tab at the tea house again," Naru said.
