[Nov 30] [The Last Unicorn] Water at the End
Title: Water at the End
Day/Theme: 30. the sea was empty
Series: The Last Unicorn
Character/Pairing: Lir
Rating: G
Lir thought it looked the same.
All the years he had watched his father stare into the sea, he had never understood the fascination. The sea was beautiful, of course, in all its many faces, but not worth standing there for hours on end, gazing off into it. He had just assumed that there was something of a sailor in his cheerless old father, drawn to the waters at the ends of the earth.
Now, knowing what his father had kept there, and how it escaped, Lir had gone to look. He didn’t know what he expected to see. Maybe there would be less sparkle or motion now that the unicorns had fled. As far as he could tell, the sea was as it always been, emptier now, but going on just the same.
That much we have in common, he thought, and turned away.
