[Nov. 7] [POTC] Abandoned
Title: Abandoned
Day/Theme: 7. neglected souls

Character/Pairing: Tia Dalma/Davy Jones

It broke her heart, which should’ve been unbreakable. She should’ve been beyond such things. That would’ve meant she was beyond love, too, however, and as capricious and fickle as she was, Tia Dalma was also stabbed through with pain to see what she loved abandoned like this.
Those lost at sea drifted past, truly lost with no ship to carry them home, no captain to guide them. The soft wail of their voices cut through to her bound bones. She loved them. They were hers.
The one she loved most had failed the first test, had turned his back on his love for her, had turned his back on his duty, had turned his back on the lost souls who needed him.
He had gotten away with it for so long because she had loved him for so long. And she knew better. He may have turned his back, but only to hide his own pain. As if she wouldn't still see it there, knotted together with the love he still felt, in the place his heart should've been.
Bound in mortal form, she was still a goddess. And unleashed in goddess form, she would also still be a woman. He would pay for what he had done, but she wouldn't keep her love from him. No turned backs for Davy Jones. He would have to look her in the face and realize she loved him, even as she ruined him. Her love for him remained, despite the pain and betrayal. She was certain that his love for her did, too.
