“God, I fucking hate you,” Edo hisses when it’s over.
He’s lying on his stomach, head buried in his hands. He feels the shift in the mattress as Ryo gets out of bed. Then hears the flick of the lighter.
“Think you can just come in here whenever you like? Fuck with me, like this?”
There’s the comforting smell of cigarette smoke and Ryo’s usual silence.
“Because you can’t,” he continues. “You just can’t.”
Ryo has the nerve to chuckle. “You little idiot,” he says with something almost like affection. “You’ve got to stop giving it up for free.”
