October 5th: What's He Got That I Don't?
Title: What's He Got That I Don't?
Day/Theme: October 5th / rejected goods
Series: Ookiku Furikabutte
Character/Pairing: Abe/Mihashi one-sided Tajima/Mihashi
Rating: PG/PG-13
Mihashi Ren was not only a special pitcher, but a special person. He had a way about him that made him gather people, despite his shyness. He would flush at the smallest tidbits of attention and begin to press his two index fingers together in a display of his shyness. Tajima Yuichiro loved being around Mihashi. Not only was the blond fun to be around, but the nervous boy seemed to love doing whatever anyone else wanted to do. Tajima would always enjoy hanging out with Mihashi... they even started going to school together. It wasn't until the beginning of the new school year that Tajima noticed a change in Mihashi. He always had realized how close Mihashi and Abe Takaya were. They would practice together everyday... they were the main battery of the team and they made it their duty to make sure that they were in fit shape, especially after the accident of last year. It seemed after Abe getting hurt, Mihashi seemed to try and make sure Abe kept healthy... he even started making sure the other boy ate appropriately. Abe would either tell Mihashi to quit it or just brush him off.
It wasn't until today that Tajima saw something he wished he hadn't. The two of them had been practicing their pitching techniques, talking together... and that's when Mihashi seemed to get a little worked up, eyes filling with tears, nibbling on his lip a little... that's when Abe got up from his stance and walked over to Mihashi and placed a haste kiss on the other boy's lips.
That kiss made Tajima's eyes grow wide. He had no idea that Mihashi and Abe were that close... and though he wasn't homophobic or anything... he felt a twang of pain run through his heart. He noticed the two of them placing their gear back in the dugout, walking close together toward the school. Tajima placed a hand in front of his heart, his eyes lowering to painful area on his body. Why did it hurt so bad? Why did he feel this way after seeing Mihashi and Abe kiss? What did Abe have that he didn't have? He sighed, trudging to the school. He had to look on the positive side though... after all he was Tajima! People would start to think him ill if he weren't wearing a sunny smile.
