Casca's hand reaches out to touch the leaves of every branch as they walk along the forest. She smiles when last night's rain shakes off the leaves, creating tiny showers. She points out rabbits and deer for everyone to see. From one tree she picks up a strange bug the same color as bark. The bug's long stick legs wriggle as she brings it up to her mouth.
Farnese steals the bug, tossing it onto the ground. Casca whimpers and bends down to recover it, but Farnese drags her along by her shelve.
Guts know that wrapped under memories of pain too difficult to bear, the mind of his lover hides. Sometimes - too many times- he forgets. It’s easy to forget when the ghost of her chases butterflies and looks at him with hungry, empty eyes.
