[Sept. 28, 2007][Original] Quest for Oranges

Title: Quest for Oranges
Day/Theme: Sept. 28, 2007 "To name the sunrise in you"
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: O-Shun, Sakurazaki
Rating: G

She had begun wishing for oranges again. Mother Dana had sent a basketful of the juicy orbs as a New Year's gift to her successful former student and when she had finished them, O-Shun had first felt content. Then she had realized how much she would like to eat an orange every day. The local leader had sought about her diocese for a nearer source of the fruit, but the closest she could find were lemons. Lemons, even if she had been able to eat them raw, were just not the same.

"Sister O-Shun," one of her aides approached swiftly, "Lord Sakurazaki heard about your little quest and he wrote us saying he's going to send you three orange trees and some instructions on how to take care of them." The young woman reached into her loose sleeve and pulled out the actual letter, which was stained pale brown from spilled coffee and scribbled hastily in the Southern Regional bishop's spidery handwriting. "He says, "How could anybody deny you, Miss O-Shun? With your flowing blond hair and your bright smile, you glow like the dawn!" ...Then he wastes some time with various pleasantries before getting down to business. I think he rather likes you."

O-Shun laughed, "I don't know about that Arlie, but it certainly is a sweet gesture. I'll have to take the time to write a thank you letter to him."
