[September 27] [Tales of Legendia] The Right Way

Jay looked vaguely ill. "You--you honestly want to know."

"Well, yeah. Want to know why you've been actin' so weird, at least."

"I--you are not allowed to laugh."

"No laughin'. Got it."

"Or call me 'little brother'."

"--okay."

"And if you start trying to advise me, so help me, bandit, I'll--"

"--okay, I get it, all right? Are you gonna tell me, or what?"

"I. Well. --sit down, bandit."

Moses sat.

For several seconds, there was perfect stillness, until Jay launched himself abruptly forward and kissed Moses.

'Hell, what am I going to do now?' Moses thought, and then he didn't think at all, just hooked an arm around Jay's body and pulled him in closer, deepening the kiss--

And then Moses found himself falling backwards as the chair he was sitting in abruptly tipped over. Jay landed unceremoniously on top of him. As he looked down at Moses, his mouth worked in aimless circles.

Moses wasn't even thinking of the promise when he started laughing.

"You--bandit, you--" Jay muttered something furiously under his breath. Moses thought he heard the words 'kill you'.

"Hey," he said. "You ain't so smart after all, huh? You did it wrong."

Jay blinked. By this time, he had moved away from Moses. "...what."

Moses got up and moved to kneel opposite Jay. "You're s'posed to close your eyes," he said, grinning. "C'mon, now. Close them."

Maybe it was the utter shock of the situation, but Jay did.

Moses kissed him again.
