Haruhi pulled Kyon to a stop in front of a clothing store window display in the shopping district. "Look at that dress," Haruhi said. "It'd look good on Mikuru, wouldn't it?"

"I dunno," Kyon said.

"Oh, come on!" Haruhi said. "I know you 'check out' Mikuru every time you look at her. You must have an opinion on the subject."

"Well," Kyon said, "actually, I guess it would, now that you—"

Haruhi cut him off. "On second thought, it wouldn't look good on Mikuru at all. Would it suit me, Kyon?"

"I dunno," a resigned Kyon said. "You tell me."
