There wasn’t any blood on his arms.
For a brief, happy moment, Subaru thought it all a nightmare. He’d never dreamed of killing Seishirou, not even during the years he tried to summon the strength to avenge his sister, however it may have been only a matter of time before his subconscious gave him the last thing he ever wanted.
But a nightmare wouldn’t take away the marks on his hands.
Nor, he dimly realized, slowly tracing a star on his left hand with his index finger, would he have ever dreamed of hearing those three words in that context.
