Suiseiseki was absently gazing through Jun's open window at the night lights of the city.

Jun sat on his bed beside her. "Thinking of new ways to break my window?" he asked.

Suiseiseki ignored him. "This city is very different from the cities of the nineteenth century desu," she said quietly. "It's so much larger desu... and brighter desu... and more ominous desu..."

"Are you shivering?" Jun asked gently.

"It's— just cold in here desu!" the most timid of the maidens said.

Jun held one hand around Suiseiseki's shoulders. "Then I'll close the window."

"Thank you desu," Suiseiseki said modestly.
