[Sept. 1, 2007][Suikoden] Temporary Change of Position
Title: Temporary Change of Position
Day/Theme: Sept. 1, 2007 "The words you've borrowed"
Series: Suikoden
Character/Pairing: Dios, Apallan
Rating: G
The reclamation of the former Highland region was to be a joint operation between Bishop Sasarai's Central Army, General Sakurazaki's Southern Army and Mage Troops, and General Rimini's Northern Army. The presence of the three largest armies in Harmonia implied that this would be a quick and simple mission, and Dios certainly hoped it would be. He wanted to get home to Kina and their children as soon as possible. As part of the Northeastern Army's staff he was often placed under the command of General Apallan Rimini while abroad and it was never an enjoyable experience. General Rimini was ill-tempered and demanding.
"Mr. Mikhail!" came the call of the general, bounding through the halls and doorway of their temporary headquarters at Kin-Nyang, seeming to echo and reverberate in the staff officer's head.
Dios heeded the call with due haste, scuttling down into the general's temporary office, a former storage room that still smelled somewhat like the bars of soap that filled most of the crates here when they first arrived. Kin-Nyang was to be the jumping-off point for the operation, and General Sakurazaki seemed to be taking an effort to see that his rival, Rimini, was as uncomfortable as his fellow Counsel member, Sasarai, was comfortable, and that Rimini was aware of it too.
"You called, sir?" Dios saluted smartly.
The general severely looked at his subordinate over the tops of his glasses. "I've been requested to reinforce Sasarai's staff because he....Well, he was no military staff," Rimini sighed, "General Sakurazaki provided him with his tertiary strategist, Sumi, and I have decided to send you. Get your things together and head to the west compound where he's waiting."
"Yes sir!" Dios saluted and jumped out of the office. However, he slunk slowly down the hall to the former linen closet he had been functioning out of. The chance to get away from his commander was appealing, but he didn't know much about the military style of Bishop Sasarai. His personal details were common enough knowledge- he was the youngest current Counsel member, he had brown hair and no last name, but Dios could only hope that the testimonies of others could be counted as true since they had not been directed to him personally. General Rimini had referred to him as being detail-oriented and friendly, but orderly when addressing his staff as a whole.
Dios scooped the few supplies he needed afield into the bag he had brought them in and left the eastern-most building for the west compound.
