Skuld was slowly paging through a textbook. She paused to gaze at a black-and-white photographic portrait, and to sigh dreamily.

Urd walked up behind Skuld, and looked over Skuld's shoulder. "What's got you all worked up?... The Danish physicist, Niels Bohr!?"

"What's it to you?" an embarrassed Skuld snapped.

"Why can't you give the 'weird science' a rest," Urd asked, "and drool over an actor or a rock star, like most girls your pseudo-age?"

"Because," Skuld declared, "they're stupid!!"

Poor Sentaro, Urd thought to herself. He's a good kid, but I don't think he has a head for quantum mechanics.
