Naru and Motoko stood just outside the back door of the Hinata House, enjoying a warm clear spring evening.

"Nice weather we're having," Naru said.

"Mmm," said Motoko.

"Winter is finally over," Naru said, "and spring is here. The afternoon sun shining through the new green leaves of the trees... the faint perfume of cherry blossoms in the air..."

Kitsune stumbled past, wearing only a bath towel, and sloshing a huge half-empty bottle of sake. "Woo hoo!!" she yelled. "I'm comin' up, so you better get this party started!!"

"...and the naked drunken revelers," Naru noted.

"Mmm," Motoko said again.
