"We need a colour that suggests manliness for the decorations!" ranted Ikkaku. "Black or red! Violence! Bloodshed! Courage! Doom! Gore! Swearing something on your very soul!"
"Pink," Yumichika said, and made a note.
"Pink? Pink?"
"If you really want," Yumichika said, "then you can argue the point with Kyouraku-taichou. Also Abarai-fukutaichou. Also Kuchiki-taichou on the grounds that cherry blossoms are the epitome of manliness, if I'm reading this haiku annotation correctly."
"There is no damn way that we're wearing pink," Ikkaku swore.
"Yachiru-fukutaichou liked the idea."
"She did?"
"She did."
"Okay. Which shade of pink goes best with my zanpakutou?"
