Comments: Spoilers for the first disc of the game where Cloud and Aeris are trying to rescue Tifa from the amorous Don.

From behind the velvet curtains of the changing room, there came a faint scrabbling sound. A twang and a muffled curse.

“Er. How do you wear this?”

Somehow, Aeris managed to stifle a chortle. Men. Brushing the curtain aside and clamping her hand over Cloud’s mouth just in time to smother his squawk of outrage, she wordlessly demonstrated the finer points of the lingerie.

“Now for the dress. No Arguments. And don’t be so rough, you’ll tear it!”

Grumbling all the way, Cloud picked up the silk gown gingerly and clambered awkwardly into it, feeling the fabric rustle and swirl around him. What am I doing. Tifa. You’d better appreciate this.

Stepping back, she observed her handiwork. By now Cloud was blushing a furious shade of red.

“Not bad. The color suits you. Turn around.”

“WHAT???”

“Didn’t you know, Real men aren’t afraid to wear pink.”

Aeris’ face was perfectly straight, her expression open and guileless with absolutely no hint that she was amused at this in any way what-so-ever. At all. At least she didn’t know what he had to do to get the, gods, lingerie, in the first place. Gods above, that was embarrassing.

Cloud cast his eyes upwards in a silent plea to the gods to miraculously deliver Tifa to them so he woudn’t have to go through with this.

No such luck. They’re probably all in cahoots with Fate to make me look like a complete fool. I just hope I don’t get picked later.
