"I can't pick!" Aya giggled, wringing her tiny hands as she glanced back and forth over the cookies on the tray. Aunt Yumi always baked the most delicious sweets and was more than happy to share them with anyone who visited her. Aya loved Aunt Yumi. She was youthful and pretty, with no husband or children of her own, although she had many admirers.

Dios knelt down beside his daughter to look more carefully at the cookies. There were oatmeal raisin cookies, some pale ones with cherries in them, and almond vanilla ones too. They were fresh and warm. Dios could actually understand Aya's dilemma. He didn't think he could pick just one himself. "How about," he suggested, "You have one of each and don't tell your mother."

"Okay!" Aya chirped happily, "Thank you, Daddy!" She carefully picked out one of each type of cookie and set them on the table.

Dios pulled out a chair and lifted the dark-haired little girl into it, making her laugh more. He helped himself to an oatmeal cookie as he watched his daughter eat.

Yuiri slipped into the room with Yumi just behind her. They watched the pair from behind. "He's spoiling our daughter," Yuiri chuckled and shook her head.

"I think you should let him," Yumi smiled, "At least a little bit. You must make the most of having a man around and letting him do as he wishes once in a while."

"Ah, what do you know about me?" Yuiri teased her sister.

"Did you see this whole thing?" Dios asked, flustered into turning around upon hearing the women's laughter.

Aya hurried to shove the last of the cookies into her mouth before her mother could stop her.

"Don't worry," Yuiri said, "You're not in trouble, Aya. Neither of you are. ...At least not this time. And you should be thanking your aunt for that."
