It was a requirement that all Captains demonstrate their bankai, to Yamamoto himself and to other Captains.
When Tousen Kaname demonstrated his, certain Captains who had been present at the time, and subject to it, felt a slight but definite degree of personal insecurity. Bankai involving perceptions were never precisely reassuring, and this one . . .
. . . well, all things considered, it was fortunate that the new Captain controlling it was so reliable, so honest, so straightforward, and so thoroughly just.
It might have been worrying, as certain people remarked to each other afterwards, to think of such power in less reliable hands.
