[June 3, 2007][Xenosaga Ep. 2] To the nth Power

Title: To the nth Power
Day/Theme: June 3, 2007 "without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep"
Series: Xenosaga Ep. 2
Character/Pairing: Albedo and mention of Rubedo among others
Rating: PG ...And just plain weird.

Albedo felt as though he was part of space- dark and of an intangible stuff and substance. With his powers of regeneration, he was like no other human- indestructible and immortal. He drifted aimlessly encapsulated in his white armor while Rubedo and the others trekked through MOMO's mind. He was not tense at all, but he was ready. He knew there was no way Rubedo could resist the bait of the trap set for him.

Was space itself indestructible, Albedo wondered. He knew quite well how all the things that filled the universe could be blasted down into so many unmendable bits to their great disappointment. But there seemed to be no way to tear the very fabric of the universe. Perhaps Albedo himself shared somehow in its infinite weave. After all, he was the endless, boundless ubermensch was he not?

He found that superiority pleased him. He did not wish to be on equal footing with is pathetic brother ever again. Though he had been happy at the time, that was before he had known the true heights of power and seen the length of his shadow as it spread eerily over not only Rubedo, but the entire Federation. His ecstasy would reach its apex when Rubedo, beaten and broken, lay in the dirt before him begging for mercy. And maybe he would show some sort of mercy. Doing so would only reinforce the powers he held over life, death, and his brother.

Of course, Albedo was not much for making firm decisions beforehand. He tended to act out suddenly based on his emotions of the moment. He had been that way ever since his youth.

He was like fate. He was like space. Expansive, enfolding, unending, capricious. The time was just about right for him to make his move. The Y-Data was almost in his grasp. "I am!" he yelled, cackling hysterically to the enchanting black void, "I am the Alpha and the Omega! The beginning and the end! Just you wait and see, Rubedo! You'll be licking my boots yet! And if not, I'm sure you'll make a lovely pillar of salt for me to break chucks off of to flavor my omelets!"
