Whenever he looked back to all of those long years of uncontrollable foresight, of knowing exactly what awaited him, Eriol was more and more convinced that he had made the right decision. His new situation had been a little unsettling, at first; he discovered that he was far too used to always knowing what to expect. Sometimes it even made him feel insecure; something that had always been there for him was now missing. It was almost like being blinded after a life of sight.
But he soon learned to enjoy the change. It was what he had always wished for, yes, but wishes often were disappointing once they were granted. He was glad to find out that this was not the case. Life was a journey, an adventure, and he was discovering it along the way.
The future was much better when you had to go looking for it.
