[April 27, 2007][Suikoden] Walking Away from the Sunset

Title: Walking Away from the Sunset
Day/Theme: April 27, 2007 at dusk
Series: Suikoden
Character/Pairing: Sasarai, Dios
Rating: G
Note: Kina is Dios' wife, Darren and Catrine are their children, according to my stories

Sasarai left Crystal Valley at dusk with Dios at his side. He had a sinking suspicion that once he left the city he would not return. Not for days or weeks...Or perhaps not ever. That was not something he could place on his subordinate as well. "Dios, I think you should go back now," the bishop said, raising a hand to shade his eyes from the last bright rays of the setting sun. The sun was moving fast now and his large hat provided little relief from its brilliance.

"No, sir," Dios replied calmly.

"But...what about your family? I know that you and Kina have had some difficulties, but I don't want to force you to separate permanently just because of your devotion to me..." the bishop spoke quietly.

The bishop's chief of staff shook his head. He looked down with a clear frown on his face. "I know that if I leave now Kina and I will never fully mend our rift, but... I don't think I could do it even if I stayed. It would be better if I went away. At least Darren and Catrine wouldn't have to listen to our arguing." Dios appeared resigned to his fate. Sasarai wished he could be so accepting of the nervous situation.

"Then let us go," the bishop sighed. He that Lena would be expecting him soon because of the message he had sent ahead earlier that day. The sun was gone now, behind the hills, leaving only a warm, golden glow.
