[April 19, 2007][Xenogears] Describe

Title: Describe
Day/Theme: April 19, 2007 by the window
Series: Xenogears
Character/Pairing: Fei, Elly, Bart
Rating: G

The Yggdrasil III cruised smoothly through the clouds towards Babel Tower. The plan was for Citan, Fei, and Elly to be dropped off at the tower, then climb up and adjust the mirror while Bart and the others returned to Fort Jasper to fire the beam cannon. Fei leaned against the railing on the bridge, watching the sky pass by.

"What did it look like?" asked Elly.

He flipped around to see Elly looking seriously toward him, her hands clasped behind her back. "What? He repeated cluelessly.

"What did the -Gate- look like?" the redhead clarified.

Fei thought about the glowing power source and tried to describe it, gesticulating abstractly to try and indicate its shape. "It was a power source with a sea green glow. It was...sort of cylindrical in shape and..." He looked to Bart who watched the pair with a smile, "You saw it too. Help me explain, Bart."

The blond youth shrugged, "I'm not that technical. It's not like I understood it any better than you did. And it sounds to me like you're not doing a bad job telling it yourself."

Elly giggled as Fei rolled in his eyes in response to Bart's willingness to let him struggle along in his account. "So you were saying-" she prompted Fei.

"Err, yes," he resumed, "It was topped by metal and surrounded by three metal generators. (I think they were generators.) After we defeated Shakhan, the whole thing started sparking and caught on fire. I'm sure the next one will look just like it. Then you can see for yourself." Fei frowned. His description had probably not proved especially enlightening.

Elly was looking away out of the window now, just as he had been doing before her arrival. Fei followed her gaze up into the thin clouds drifting across the vast stretch of blue sky. Though faint and stretched awkwardly, a rainbow hung over them in the moist air. Fei stopped over to the railing and leaned his arms on it once again, neck craned, raising his face to the unknown eternity beyond.
