04/15/07 [Original Roleplay] All That Transpired
Title: All That Transpired
Day/Theme: April 15: Dreaming of Angels
Series: Original roleplay
Character/Pairing: Dinah, Jael, mentions of Helen and Levi
Rating: G
Dinah sat silently, moody. The sun was blinding bright today, threatening to dry out all of the grass in the Southern Valley. Whenever Helen raised the sun it was brighter than it needed to be. Dinah hated that, though she had other reasons to hate the girl.
When Jael joined her she almost fluttered away, opening her wings and taking to the sky. Yet Dinah stayed, breathing in the scent of her old friend as it drifted over the hot air. The red head looked over at her silent companion. "How have you been?" she asked softly.
Dinah shook her head. Like you really care.
Jael could read Dinah; they had been speaking their own special brand of sign language for over 300 years. "We were friends once. We might still be," she added. So much had passed between them, words and actions irrevocable.
Sure, was the reply, a little shrug of her shoulders.
Jael laughed, like the tinkling of the bell shaped lily of the valley. A sweet, natural breeze that infuriated Dinah, almost as much as the brightness of sun. "What do you do with all of your spare time these days? Dream of him?" she asked blithely, as if they had not just been speaking of their friendship.
I don't dream. A long pause. I haven't dreamed since his death.
"Of course not," Jael replied. "He took all of your dreams with him."
Which reminds me, Dinah said with determined gestures. I need to pay my respects to the little mermaid that took him from me.
Jael's eyes widened. She didn't think Dinah would actually try to avenge Levi, not after all that had transpired. They had become estranged in the last strange days of the Angelus Demoni's life. "Good luck with that," Jael replied flippantly. She eased into silence with her companion, the two of them resting in the too bright sunshine.
