Naru waded into the Hinata springs, and found herself face-to-face with another girl.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Naru said. "I didn't mean to walk up on you."

She moved back. The other girl silently followed her.

"What are you doing?" Naru asked. The other girl didn't answer.

"Look," Naru said, "you're really getting on my nerves!"

                

Motoko and Kitsune stood at the edge of the springs, and watched Naru argue with nobody.

"Either Naru's so near-sighted that she's arguin' with her own reflection," Kitsune said, "or else she's completely lost her mind."

"Those two possibilities are not mutually exclusive," Motoko noted.
