The sun shone over the garden, a welcome change after days of rain. Kaho wasted no time; she put on a pale summer dress, chose a book from the library, and sat next to the flowerbeds. If she had learned something about England, it was that she should never let nice weather go to waste.
Spinel stretched on the grass beside her, basking in the light he'd missed so much. She knew that, very soon, he would be reading over her shoulder.
Eriol and Nakuru arrived with cool drinks, and Spinel mumbled something about the lost silence. Kaho just smiled.
