[April 12, 2007][Original] A New Dynasty

Title: A New Dynasty
Day/Theme: April 12, 2007 a beautiful day
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Krihsjan Ranwury, Rimzan, Hazama
Rating: G

The regent was dead. Hazama Missaru had long outlasted the dynasty he had fought so hard to protect, then sorrowfully led Eastirrim for years afterward. After Queen Anabel's radiant glow, Hazama somber reign was a gray fog gently blanketing the nation, but now it was at an end. He left no children, or any family for that matter, having been an orphan himself. There were no Haznables left and no vice-regent to step up and fill the void. A new royal family was going to be elected.

Rimzan Crimsonshaft, Rihaku's Prime Minister, was rather disapproving of the whole affair, recommending that a new regent be elected, not a king, but the last Rihakan supporters had gone with Regent Missaru. Rihaku's words were disregarded and the small assembly of nobility left over from the Haznable days elected a former resistance supporter, Krihsjan Ranwury, to be the new king of Eastirrim. A few questioned whether that was what Anabel would've wanted- they all knew Hazam's wouldn't have, but no one care for a regent's decision when kings were involved. King Krihsjan happily moved his family into the grandest quarters of the Fortress of Mirth.

The sun was bright on his coronatio day and the fortress, scrubbed hard in preparation for this happy event, sparkled. Krihsjan had the yellow-gold crown placed on his head in front of his wife, mother, three children, and a cheering throng. He was in his thirties, blue-eyed, and a bit scruffy stubble-faced. Krihsjan had a flair with his clothing, favoring whites with blue trim, that had always eluded the Haznables, whose last three royals had been known for their horrendous love of wearing as many colors as they could at one time. The new king had big feet and he marched happily through the dewy grass to wave heartily to his newly acquired subjects who waved back in excitement. The Haznables had not been an especially long-lived dynasty and though Anabel in particular had made them loved, the townsfolk were wildly glad to welcome in a new and hopefully entertaining (but still ably governing) line of kings. From his noisy but well-organized beginning, it did not seem King Krihsjan Ranwury would disappoint.
