Life was the most precious gift of all. It seemed so obvious to him, and yet most people didn't seem to appreciate it. They took it for granted; something that just... happened.
He knew that it wasn't so easy. He knew what it felt like to give life, to give up his own heart and breath and strength for a new creature. To see this new being looking at him, looking at the whole world in awe.
When he saw his first child wake up, when he saw Jump's tiny eyes staring into his, he knew he could never stop.
