The best thing about Spinel was that it was nice just to have him there. His presence was warm and relaxing, like a sunlit afternoon.
Eriol knew that Ruby would throw a fit if he ever said it aloud. But the truth was that he didn't play favourites; each of his Guardians had something he needed. They complemented each other.
Spinel's strongest point was companionship. He was a good listener, a confidant, and blunt enough to tell Eriol when he was being a fool. And yet, the best of all was his silence when he curled up on Eriol's arms.
