“What is this?” she asked, cheeks flushed with laughter. Arching off the ground and turning her golden head toward him, she smiled as he brushed the vibrant flower against her lips. “Daffodil?”
He grinned down at her, shaking his head and chuckling quietly. “You don’t know?” he teased, tickling her nose with the plant’s soft petals.
With a tiny (and altogether unladylike) pout, she grabbed his wrist and held it in place. She inhaled deeply, humming softly as she released the breath again. “Mmm… Smells pretty.”
“It’s a Narcissus flower, love,” he murmured in her hair. “Of course it’s pretty.”
