Every year, they watched the cherry blossoms bloom. They both loved the flowers, but during the first years of their marriage, the reason why they enjoyed this so much was far less romantic. It was one of the very few entertainments they could afford, and they always tried to make the most of it.
They didn't do much except sitting next to each other and watching. Fujitaka used to say that he liked being under the trees because they reminded him of their first meeting, and she never could tell if he was joking or not. Perhaps it was both.
