In his later days, the regent was able to practically project the spirit of the late beloved queen. When he spoke, he certainly was himself in tone and in deed, but his eyes took on her glimmer and if prompted he was able to say exactly what he though she would say to solve any situation. He said it was the compass that guided his decision-making for the government. Some of his fellow government workers found it a little bit creepy, but no one was willing to speak out against the man who had managed to hold their country together after the last Haznable passed away.

Kojiro, despite his past of less than friendly feelings toward Anabel, found it rather nostalgic. Perhaps it was because now he was much older too, looking back on a girl he had known in his youth. She had died at about thirty from a disease and no more details than that were disclosed to the general public.

"She had that fire in her eyes until the very eye," Hazama privately told Kojiro," But her strength wore away and she could barely walk."

"Next time I'm in Orange, I'll light a candle for her at the atrium," the dark-haired merchant decided.

"That would be kind," the regent smiled.

"Say a little more about your Lady Anabel, why don't you? I'd like to go back in time. The Spring Revolution was when I was so young and I barely understood a thing. Anabel wasn't like me- she was smart."

"Yes, she was smart. She befuddled General Gahn by re-pouring poisoned drinks, as she later explained to me, and she worked with Lady Saskia to engineer the removal of Rihakan troops from Eastirrim. She knew you didn't care much for her, but she liked you, Kojiro. She admired your strong will. She walked all over Chimecross Castle and talked to those who had come to follow you for one reason or other. You were a bit abrasive at the time, but Anabel was still using your example as she worked to become a real leader."

Kojiro sighed, "Yes, that was how she was. I can imagine her now, wearing that funny, little, yellow hat. I don't see what she could've learned about leading from me though. I was a terrible leader. I was just faking it from one order from Rimzan to the next..."
