[August 17] [The Invisible Man] Quicksilver Freedom

Title: Quicksilver Freedom
Day/Theme: August 17th/I am inside someone who hates me
Series: The Invisible Man
Character: Fawkes
Rating: PG

The world was full of potential, and damned if he could see why so many people let it go to waste. Why he'd let it go to waste, for so long. Looking around now, it was so obvious: anything Fawkes had ever wanted could be his. He just had to take it.

Ray Bradbury once said, "Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage." And man, did he get that one right. Fawkes was free now, and it seemed to him that staying locked in that government cage for so long, that had been insanity. It was so simple!

Money? Presto-chango, a bit of quicksilver, a quick stroll by the bank aaaand... his.

Women? Hey, take the sneaking-into-the-girls-locker-room fantasy, do some creative, adult editing, and anyone he wanted could be his. Why hadn't he seen this before?

And, what else? Oh, right... how about a little, oh, revenge? All it'd take was a little -

"Grab him!"

A little military needle jabbing into the back of his skull, clearing up the clouds in his head and, oh, shit. Hello, color. And morality. And sanity.

The world sucked.
