[April 3] [FFT] captured breeze, vain reality

Title: captured breeze, vain reality
Theme: Nostalgia
Series: Final Fantasy Tactics
Pairing: none
Rating: PG

He remembers being human.

The fields of wheat, ripe with their bountiful harvest, the feel of sweat, of his aching muscles after a hard day’s work and the way the hotness of the bath water soothed him. He missed being able to feel, to care; unlike the way his current state rendered him now. It was his choice really, with war breaking out everywhere, little ripples turning into a full scale war, they were hit the hardest; the poor people of Ivalice. His choice to make a difference, to make sure that something could be done to protect his brothers and sisters. He became a mage two months later, hard work pushing - making him worthy of fighting in the front lines.

He saw a few familiar faces in his group, the unwashed, illiterate little boys and girls of his backwater town.

He met his death with a quick arrow to the chest, (everyone knew they have no chance of winning, they fought anyway to prove they were wrong about that assumption, each of his companions falling with a dull thud) but not before he set him ablaze, it was that young woman's face that he last saw before his death.

He remembered being human, but it didn't stopped him for longing to see the bright world with its warm inviting light, making him want to stretch his arms out in welcome of a new day, but for now he settles near the rotting ancient tree in the middle of the forest, hoping no foolhardy traveler disturbs his - their resting place.
