[April 2] [Card Captor Sakura] Under the Same Sun

Title: Under the Same Sun
Day/Theme: April 2 / In the sunlight
Series: Card Captor Sakura
Character/Pairing: Clow, Eriol and Fujitaka (and their respective families)
Rating: G
Notes: Manga canon, of course.

There were days when Clow felt like he wouldn't mind stopping time right then, in one perfect moment. He lay on the grass, his head resting on Cerberus's side; the lion's fur was soft and warm and golden like the sun itself. Yue had looked for the protection of a tree and now he was sleeping below it, pale and beautiful, like a painting. For Clow, the shadow of his Sun Guardian's wing stretched above his face was more than enough.

"I could stay like this forever," he whispered, almost to himself.

"Well, I couldn't," Cerberus yawned, "so don't get too used to it."

Clow grinned at him, rolled on his side, and fell asleep.

One of the first things Eriol did when he arrived to Tomoeda was taking care of the garden. It wasn't just vanity. The place was alive, and it had missed him. It needed a loving hand to take good care of it, to make it grow and bloom again as if it had never been alone.

It rained in most of Tomoeda, except inside the walls of a garden that nobody looked at. Eriol and Nakuru chatted and laughed together as they sowed new flowers and sprinkled the old ones, while Spinel slept curled up on a branch of the sakura tree.

Nadeshiko was transparent in the sunlight. It shone in her hair and in her wings, and most of all in her smile. She looked so beautiful that Fujitaka almost couldn't pay attention to her words.

Not too far from them, Touya walked hand in hand with Tsukishiro, who took it all in with wide eyes. Sakura wasn't so quiet as she followed her excited little Guardian. Cerberus laughed and shouted and pointed at things, dragging her along all the while. Beside them floated Flower (and it had been so strange, at first, to see them again), who looked like she was having the time of her life.

Fujitaka felt odd and a little useless, as if he was at home and out of place at the same time. It would take a while to get used to all of this.

"I can't believe this is ours," he said softly. Nadeshiko smiled at him.

"I'm glad it is. You've always wanted a large garden."

He had, Fujitaka remembered. But only now did he understand why.
